F-You: Forgiveness Project

As the fourth edition in an acclaimed series, F-You: The Forgiveness Project is took place on September 24th, 2011 at the Art Gallery of Ontario. A panel of six people, a mix of race, age and gender, spoke about a time in their lives they had to forgive either themselves or another, F-You is an inviting, tell-all event that aligns personal growth with self-improvement. This event has the potential to impact our community and young adults by way of real- life portrayals of hardships, and over coming barriers that at one point seemed insurmountable. Hearing first-hand trials and tribulations from people just like us can open the door to motivate and inspire us to do better, to be better, and most importantly, feel better. We at the F-You Project share a desire to see more unity and confidence among our generation. In a world filled with anger and resentment, it becomes easy to harden our hearts to the idea of letting go.

Physical and mental Illness have both been attributed to un-forgiveness. Forgiveness is not permission, or predisposed justification - it is the release of detrimental feelings, thoughts and emotions that can consume us both physically and mentally. F-You is a multifaceted organization, which includes panel-based community events, a T-shirt line and a collection of journals. The panel is an impassioned and inspiring event, featuring speakers who have overstepped the line between being a victim and being a survivor in the face of their own internal adversities. A true showcase of strength and inner character, F-You will reveal how forgiveness is the power to heal yourself and others by resisting blame and granting pardon to those who have wronged us.
With guest speakers from every walk of life, including the ever-testing entertainment industry, F-You will encourage and empower all of us to let go... for no one other than ourselves

If you missed last months discussion we will be back in October now that this election is over!

Keep Your Heels n' Toes in Check with 5 easy steps!

As winter takes us by storm in the next few days don’t forget about your feet! Wrap ‘em up, bundle them tight! In less then 5 months it will be time for toes, to see DAYLIGHT!

I find people forget about their feet, living in Canada and all. When for half the year we hide our feet from the elements. But that doesn't mean we should ignore them. I have 5 easy D.I.Y.’s to make your feet feel fancy and fantastic all winter long. I don’t know about you but, I’m waiting on summer and I don’t want to keep her waiting when she gets here. Be ready to Jump in FEET FIRST!

5 TIPS TO WINTER WORTHY, SUMMER READY FEET

1. Get rid of your Ped EGG! I thought at first that, I just didn't want to understand what it was. Never could I imagine a cheese grater attached to a pink & white tupperware as a tool for ones feet. “Less is more” my Nana always says- I would suggest a less abrasive technique, First try a simple exfoliating scrub you can use on your feet while in the shower, it takes 30 seconds and is a easy first step.Pay special attention to the unsightly areas (hard or yellow, rub and scrub with love)

Depending on the severity of your cracked heels or calloused corns you might

want to use No More Rough Stuff Pumice - Foot Care from Body Shop in combination with an exfoliating scrub. My favorite place to find these is Winners, what a little savings can do for your feet!

Step #2. So easy, Dry between your toes, a little bit of water can go a long way. What causes peeling between toes? By not drying between your toes

you are creating a breeding ground for fungus. If you can’t reach your toes look for something to help.

Step #3. Keep nails trimmed and filed. Grooming, simple grooming. Save your socks and your partner the battle and keep your toe nails groomed and healthy looking.

Step #4 . If you have dry skin or rough skin on your feet you can use a dry fine flat file to buff some of the hard stuff off.

Step #5. Moisturize, once a day for maintenance, twice a day for repair. A third time if you really really care!
More recently (After being spoiled on Christmas) I received Body Shop Hemp gift set. Yummy, but it had in it Hemp Foot Protector, its so smooth and buttery. Loaded with hemp seed oil and a

I always tell my clients that doing something is better then doing nothing when it comes to caring for your feet.
Do what you can, and if you can't call me!
I hope you can use one or all of my tips in your on personal care regime .
